AAAS + ASU Collaborative

About the AAAS+ASU Collaborative

Arizona State University and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) have joined forces in a first-of-its-kind partnership launched in 2025. Together, we are working to expand the role of science in society, create new opportunities for research and professional growth, and help the next generation of scientists, engineers and innovators thrive.

Through this partnership, all ASU faculty, students and staff are eligible for a complimentary AAAS Elemental membership.

The AAAS+ASU Collaborative is a first-of-its-kind partnership between Arizona State University and AAAS, launched in 2025. This unique collaboration is built on a shared commitment to advancing science that delivers tangible public value and to ensuring both broad participation and engagement in science.

Through the Collaborative, ASU and AAAS are creating new opportunities for faculty, students, and staff to connect their research and expertise with national and global platforms. The partnership aims to expand the visibility of ASU’s research community, foster interdisciplinary partnerships and elevate the role of science in informing policy, public engagement and innovation.

The Collaborative provides ASU students, faculty and staff with direct access to extensive AAAS networks in science policy, research funding and public communication. ASU community members are encouraged to take part in prestigious AAAS fellowship and award programs, contribute to its influential general science conference, the AAAS Annual Meeting and make use of AAAS resources and workshops to enhance science communication and policy engagement skills.

Importantly, the Collaborative is designed to support the next generation of scientists and researchers while offering established faculty new avenues for leadership and professional growth. Whether you are an undergraduate student just beginning your journey, a graduate researcher looking to broaden your impact, an early-career scholar seeking mentorship and recognition, or a senior faculty member interested in shaping national conversations, the AAAS+ASU Collaborative opens new doors for you to engage, lead and make a difference in the scientific community and society at large.
